Version 2.1 · valid from 18 September 2026

1. General

  1. These Terms apply to Transfers booked directly with Avatravel. That includes Bookings made through our Website or App, by telephone or text, through a booking link, QR code or promotion code provided by a Referral Partner, and through a Corporate Account.
  2. These Terms do not apply to Bookings made through a Travel Platform. Where a Transfer is booked through a third-party travel platform, online travel agent or reseller, the contract for that Booking is between the Passenger and that platform, and that platform's own terms and conditions govern the Booking — including its rules on quotations, cancellation, changes, waiting time and any additional charges, which may differ from those set out here. Avatravel performs those Transfers as a supplier to the platform and to the same standard of service, and Passengers are welcome to contact us directly about a journey in progress.
  3. Avatravel provides the Transfer. We arrange and carry out every Transfer we accept. We may carry it out ourselves or through a Supplier engaged by us, and either way Your contract for the Transfer is with Avatravel and You deal only with us.
  4. Every Transfer is carried out by a Supplier licensed to provide passenger transport services in Ireland, using a Vehicle and a driver licensed for the carriage of passengers for reward. That may be a taxi or hackney, a limousine or executive car, a minibus or a coach, according to the service booked.
  5. When booking a Transfer by phone, Website, text or App, You agree to these Passenger Terms and Conditions, which govern Your Booking. By clicking "I agree to Avatravel Terms & Conditions", You confirm Your acceptance. If You are booking on behalf of someone else, Your acceptance represents that You have the authority to do so on their behalf.
  6. Where a Transfer is booked through a Corporate Account or by a Referral Partner on behalf of a Passenger, the person or organisation making the Booking accepts these Terms on the Passenger's behalf and confirms they have authority to do so. These Terms apply to the Transfer in the same way regardless of who made the Booking.
  7. If a Clause of the Agreement is determined by any court or other competent authority to be unlawful or unenforceable, the other Clauses of the Agreement will continue in effect. If any unlawful or unenforceable Clause would be lawful or enforceable if part of it were deleted, that part will be deemed to be deleted, and the rest of the Clause will continue in effect, unless that would contradict the clear intention of the parties, in which case the entirety of the relevant Clause will be deemed to be deleted.
  8. The Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the law of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction to adjudicate any dispute arising under or in connection with the Agreement.
  9. We may amend these Terms. The version in force at the time You make a Booking governs that Booking, and each version is dated. Where an amendment affects a Referral Partner's obligations under its Partner Agreement with us, we give that partner notice under that agreement before the amendment takes effect.

  5. You will make payment in full for Avatravel services using the agreed method of payment at the time of Booking and in accordance with our payment policy. Avatravel will provide You with several options to facilitate this payment.
  6. You will only use the service to make a Booking You wish to fulfil. If we deem that You are misusing the software we reserve the right to disable Your account without prior notice.
  7. It is Your responsibility to check the details of Your Booking prior to travel and to inform us if there are any errors or anything that needs to be amended.
  8. You will not use the service for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to knowingly introducing viruses, trojans or logic bombs, or attempting to gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems including servers and databases.
  9. 5. Bookings

  1. When You make a Booking, this constitutes an offer which Avatravel may or may not accept. Your Booking is not confirmed until You receive confirmation from us.
  2. Avatravel does not guarantee that it will be able to fulfil Your requirements, and reserves the right to refuse any Booking You wish to make and to cancel any Booking You have made. In such a case we will refund to You, in accordance with our cancellation and refund policy, the amount paid by You, in full and final settlement of any claim You might have.
  3. Where You have Particular Requirements, You must tell us at the time of Booking. We will tell You whether we are able to meet them. We cannot accommodate Particular Requirements we have not been told about.
  4. Avatravel reserves the right to correct typographical errors in any of the information that appears on the Website, including pricing mistakes. If, once You are informed of such an error, You wish to withdraw, You are free to do so.
  5. Avatravel may carry out a Transfer using a Supplier or a Vehicle other than the one originally allocated, including where the original Supplier or Vehicle becomes unavailable. Any substitute will be of an equivalent or higher standard to the service booked. This does not change Your contract, which remains with Avatravel.
  6. You must inform us at the time of Booking about excess luggage, wheelchairs, sports equipment, music equipment or any additional item, so that arrangements can be made for all belongings to fit in the Vehicle without compromising the safety of the journey. The Driver may refuse to transport excess items where these conditions are not met.

6. Quotations

  1. Avatravel provides quotations on a fixed, hourly or estimated basis.
  2. Payment in Cash is available only for fares with an estimated price, and only where a cash payment method is offered as an option at the time of Booking.
  3. The prices given in Quotes are based on our current pricing systems.
  4. Quotes are only accurate at the moment of obtaining them. We cannot guarantee that the same price will be available at another time.
  5. For Quotes with estimated fares, where You choose to pay with a debit or credit card, a pre-authorisation of the estimated amount will be made on Your card before the journey starts. The final amount, which will be a metered fare, may vary from the estimated fare and will be deducted from Your card, or paid by You in Cash directly to the Driver, after the journey is completed.
  6. For Quotes with fixed fares, You will be required to pay the exact amount agreed at the time of Booking. Extra charges may apply in the circumstances set out below.
  7. Fixed and estimated fares are distance based. Extra charges may be added in a number of circumstances, including but not limited to:
    1. If waiting time is applicable to the journey.
    2. If You make changes to the quoted journey once inside the Vehicle, for example if You add a stop or change the destination.
    3. If the journey deviates from the system's suggested route, for example because of road works, or because the Driver suggests an alternative route due to congestion.
    4. If the Vehicle needs cleaning after Your journey.

7. Payments

  1. For personal accounts paid by card, You agree to Avatravel making a deduction from Your card on an agreed frequency. Avatravel will not disclose any of Your card details.
  2. Where a fixed Quote was offered to You at the time of Booking, You agree to complete payment before the Booking is allocated to a Supplier.
  3. Payments for Bookings with estimated Quotes can be made by Cash or card directly to the Driver after the journey is completed.
  4. For Bookings where only card payment was offered, and where a journey originates at an airport or outside County Dublin, You are required to complete payment at least 1 hour in advance of the pick-up time. Avatravel reserves the right to cancel the Booking if that condition is not met.
  5. For all Cash Bookings You agree to pay the Driver the final amount based on the pricing scheme, unless You cancel the Booking before the journey begins.
  6. Cash payments can be made in cash or by card using the payment terminal the Driver will provide at the end of the journey.
  7. The Driver will provide You with a receipt for payment. On request, Avatravel will provide a receipt by email to the email address registered with us.

8. Waiting Time Policy

  1. Free waiting time is included with every Transfer. The amount included depends on where the Passenger is collected from:
    1. Airport, with Meet & Greet — 45 minutes.
    2. Bus station, train station or ferry port — 30 minutes.
    3. Any other address — 15 minutes.
  2. Buffer time. For collections from an airport, bus station, train station or ferry port, Your pick-up time is the arrival time plus a buffer, allowing for disembarking and, where applicable, immigration and baggage collection. The default buffer is 15 minutes. You may select a longer buffer at the time of Booking, in increments of 15 minutes, up to a maximum of 60 minutes. For collections from any other address, free waiting time runs from the Agreed Time.
  3. How airport arrival times are established. For airport collections, Your arrival time is the time the aircraft lands, not the time it reaches the gate or the time the doors open. We establish landing times using Flightradar24, which we regard as the most reliable source available to us, or an equivalent flight tracking service where that data is unavailable. Landing times recorded in this way are the reference we use when adjusting a pick-up time, and when investigating any complaint or dispute about waiting time.
  4. Rail and ferry arrivals. We do not track rail or ferry services. For collections from a bus station, train station or ferry port, Your pick-up time is based on the scheduled arrival time You give us at the time of Booking. If Your service is delayed, please tell us as soon as You can so we can adjust the pick-up.
  5. Waiting beyond the free period is optional and is charged per minute at the rate applicable to the Vehicle booked:
    1. Mini Car, Standard, Electric Standard, SUV, MPV, People Carrier, Minivan and Standard Taxi — €0.75 per minute.
    2. Executive and Business Van — €1.00 per minute.
    3. Luxury and Electric Luxury — €1.50 per minute.
    4. Minibus — €2.50 per minute.
    5. Mini Coach — €3.50 per minute.
  6. We will not leave a Passenger without options. Where free waiting time is close to expiring and the Passenger has not arrived, we will attempt to contact the Passenger and, where a Booking was made on their behalf, the person or organisation that made it. Additional waiting is only charged where it has been agreed, and is charged to the Card used for the Booking or, where the Booking was made through a Corporate Account, to that account.
  7. Where a Passenger cannot be located and no contact can be established by the end of the free waiting period, and no additional waiting has been agreed, the Transfer may be treated as a no-show and charged in full.

9. Flight Delays, Diversions and Cancellations

  1. Avatravel actively monitors flights so that we can arrange for the Driver to arrive at airport pick-ups when Your aircraft is landing. In the case of flight delays You will not be charged for the delay time. You will only be charged for extra waiting time if it exceeds the free waiting time allowed under our Waiting Time Policy above.
  2. Avatravel reserves the right to fulfil the service with a Vehicle other than the one agreed in the case of a flight delay, where this is necessary to avoid disruption of services to other customers. We will try to contact You for confirmation before doing so. Any change will not compromise the safety of Your journey. If we are unable to contact You, we will proceed with the change. If a cheaper service is provided, You will be entitled to a reimbursement of the difference from the price You paid.
  3. If a Passenger's flight is diverted to another airport in Ireland, we will use our best efforts to arrange a Transfer from that airport. Where we are unable to provide the service, You will be entitled to a 50% refund of the Booking price paid.
  4. If a Passenger's flight is diverted to another country, we will be unable to arrange the Transfer. In this case You will be entitled to a 50% refund of the Booking price paid.

10. Cancellation and Refunds

  1. We offer free cancellation and a full refund when You cancel within the notice period that applies to Your Vehicle type, counted before the scheduled pick-up time:
    1. Vehicles seating up to 8 passengers — at least 24 hours' notice.
    2. Minibuses — at least 3 days (72 hours) notice.
    3. Coaches — at least 7 days' notice.
  2. Cancellations made with less than the required notice for the Vehicle type will be fully charged.
  3. If Your flight is cancelled by the airline more than 3 hours before the scheduled pick-up time, You are entitled to a full refund. Within the final 3 hours before the scheduled pick-up time, refunds are not possible.
  4. Where the Booking was made by a Referral Partner or through a Corporate Account, any refund is made to whoever paid for the Transfer.

11. Warranty, Claims and Limitation of Liability

  1. Avatravel is responsible for providing the Transfer. We carry it out ourselves or through a Supplier engaged by us, and either way Your contract is with Avatravel. We are responsible to You for the Transfer being carried out with reasonable care and skill.
  2. Every Supplier and every Driver holds the licences and the motor insurance required by law. Where a Passenger suffers injury or damage arising from the use of a Vehicle on the road, that claim is dealt with under that motor insurance, as it is on any journey by road. We will give You the information You need in order to make such a claim and will assist You in making it.
  3. Nothing in these Terms operates to exclude or limit any right You may have under consumer legislation, or to limit liability for death or personal injury arising out of negligence.
  4. Estimated trip times and times of arrival presented by Avatravel are indicative only, and are subject to traffic and weather conditions and to the final route taken by the Driver. You are responsible for setting an Agreed Time that allows sufficient time to reach Your destination in order to check in for a flight, take a train or fulfil any other dependency You might have.
  5. Avatravel may keep You informed of the status of Your Booking by email and SMS text alert. Avatravel does not guarantee the delivery or the timing of these alerts and will not be liable, whether in contract or otherwise, for any indirect or consequential loss or loss of revenue arising from the omission or delay of such alerts.

12. Terms and Conditions common to all types of Transfer

  1. The Passenger should be in a suitable state for travelling. Where a Passenger is suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or suffers from an infectious or contagious disease, or wears clothes or has luggage in an exceptionally dirty condition, the Driver has the right to refuse entry to the Vehicle. No refund will be given.
  2. The Driver may terminate the Trip, acting reasonably, if the conduct or behaviour of You or Your party is disruptive in any way or affects Your safety or that of the Driver. Neither Avatravel nor the Supplier accepts liability for any extra costs incurred by You or Your party as a result.
  3. Passengers are not permitted to take alcoholic drinks into the Vehicle for the purpose of consuming them during the Trip.
  4. Live animals may travel on any Transfer, but only in suitable carrying equipment of the kind used in air transportation, such as a cage or a box. The animal must not emit an offensive smell or harass other Passengers during the journey. Payment is required in advance for the transportation of animals. An assistance dog is carried free of charge.
  5. Bicycles, golf bags and ski equipment will be carried where the service is available and the appropriate fee has been paid at the time of making the Reservation.
  6. For a Booking of a Vehicle other than a wheelchair accessible vehicle, where a Passenger needs a wheelchair for mobility, the chair will be carried free of charge provided that it can be folded and that Avatravel is notified in advance when the Reservation is made. One wheelchair per Passenger is carried free of charge.
  7. One pushchair or pram is carried free of charge.
  8. It is forbidden to take into the Vehicle:
    1. Hazardous or inflammable materials, such as acids, petroleum products, or toxic or radioactive materials.
    2. Firearms or other weapons, including bladed weapons, unless contained in a protective cover and locked in the luggage compartment.
    3. Objects that are repulsive or offensive to others.
    4. Objects that can jeopardise the physical health of other Passengers, or cause physical damage to or contaminate the Vehicle.
    5. An object unsuitable for transportation by road due to its shape, volume or nature.

13. Complaints Procedure

  1. If a Passenger wishes to make a complaint about an Avatravel service, this must be done within 30 days from the date the Transfer in question took place. The complaint must be put in writing, by letter or email. Telephone complaints will only deal with immediate problems at the time of taking the Transfer.
  2. Where a Passenger did not arrive within the free waiting time and no additional waiting had been agreed, we will normally be unable to uphold a complaint that the Transfer did not take place.
  3. It is important that Passengers give Avatravel all the relevant facts when making a complaint, as Avatravel investigates all complaints fully with the Supplier concerned.
  4. We reserve the right to take up to 180 days to resolve a complaint where there are special circumstances involved and where it is not possible to establish all the facts in the short term, for example a serious road accident.
  5. Avatravel reserves the right to bring a complaint to its conclusion where there is sufficient evidence that the complaint is not justified. No further investigation will take place if this is the case.

14. Electronic Communications

  1. All notices to Avatravel under these Terms are to be given by You in writing to info@avatravel.ie. A Referral Partner giving notice under its Partner Agreement does so to the address set out in that agreement.
  2. All communications with us will be electronic whenever You use software provided by us or send email to us. You agree to receive communications from us by email or through a notification in our software. All communications from us will relate to Your journeys or to promotions that relate to our service.

15. Intellectual Property

  1. Content on our Website, including text, images and logos, is protected. Unauthorised use is prohibited.

16. Privacy and Personal Information
